FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What do capsule sizes 000-5 mean?

These numbers tell you how much powder or oil your capsules can hold. The larger the number, the smaller the capsule size: So size 000 is the largest capsule size and size 5 is the smallest.

However, because all powders weigh different amounts, our chart estimates the weight in milligrams (mg) each capsule size can hold.

For example, the largest capsule size, 000, can hold about 1/4 teaspoon of powder or oil, which can weigh anywhere from 700 to 1400 milligrams.

Which capsule size do most people buy?

Size 00 is the most common capsule size ordered, followed by size 0.

If you don't know which size to choose and you want the most flexibility, size 00 is the best choice because it holds the most amount of powder while still being easy to swallow (up to ~3/4 gram).

If you sometimes find it difficult to swallow large capsules, size 0 is the better choice because it's very easy to swallow yet holds up to ~1/2 gram of powder.

If you have no trouble swallowing pills of any size, size 000 is the best choice because it holds the most (about ~1 gram of powder).

If you want to take more than 1 gram of powder at a time, you can split your dose into multiple capsules or try using Blate Papes instead, which can hold ~2-4 grams of powder.

Can you use different size capsules in the same capsule filler?

Unfortunately, the machine is not universal to all capsules sizes. A size 00 machine can only be used to fill size 00 capsules, size 0 to fill size 0, 000 to 000 and so forth.

This is because every plate on each machine is specific to that capsule size diameter. Changing all the plates would cost the same as buying a second machine, yet it would also mean having to constantly remove and readjust them, making it too difficult and impractical.

However, there are machines that accept interchangeable plates like this at the professional level. For example, our Pro-Op Series 300 capsule filling system allows for the removal and changeover of capsule sizes with optional size-change plates.

Can I fill less than 100 capsules at a time with the 100 hole machine?

Yes! If you don't want to make a full 100 capsules, you can easily make less than 100 capsules at a time with our 100 hole capsule filler. To do this, you simply put a non-toxic, no residue tape over the unwanted capsule holes on the BODY PLATE and FRAME PLATE.

What is a Blate Pape and why do I get free samples with my order?

Blate Papes are thin gel films made of only potato starch and water. Similar to a capsule, they allow you to swallow powdered herbs and supplements without tasting anything.

The difference is in capacity, ease of use, and ease of swallowing. Blate Papes allow you to take and swallow multiple grams of powder at once, while capsules can only hold at most 1 gram of powder. How? When dipped in water, Blate Papes soak into a gel around your powder. This makes the powder soft and delicate, which allows you to easily swallow it at once without tasting anything. It breaks apart instantly in your stomach, so anything you take will kick in about 15-20 minutes faster than with capsules. We include Blate Papes Gel Film Pouches with every order so customers who make their own supplements can see for themselves whether or not they may find them useful for the substances they take.

Blate Papes aren’t meant to replace capsules, but rather they both work better for certain powders or scenarios. It all depends on the needs of the user. For example, kratom users tend to find Blate Papes to be extremely useful, as they have to take 2+ grams at a time, they want it to kick in sooner, and it really tastes bad without them!
